In doing some preliminary research for an upcoming article on luxury home electronics I came across this bad boy and just had to share. Yes you read that correctly, the Walker Audio Proscenium Black Diamond III Turntable will indeed set you back $89,995 and is purported to be “the pinnacle of analog playback”. I can’t pretend to understand the technicalities of isolation, rigidity and resonance control but I was intrigued when they said “I never believed recorded music could sound this real.” Based on the awards (The Absolute Sound Turntable of the Year 2002, 2006, 2010), accolades, passion, and science behind Walker Audio this seems to be the real deal for those who can afford it and love music.
I believe these are the last two actual albums I owned. I have to admit I would love to take them for a spin…
