BATH REMODELING DO’s From the experts
DO Go Green—Sustainable bathroom designs include natural stone granite, quartz, onyx and marble. Quartz is the most durable stone for counter tops. Add a splash of color with recycled decorative glass tiles on the backsplash or trim. – RICK GUEDES, GUEDES CONSTRUCTION –
DO Turn a simple shower into a spa with a body jet spray system. Sleek modern designs allow us to customize the velocity and spray pattern of your shower experience. – RICK GUEDES, GUEDES CONSTRUCTION –
DO Make certain you position the lights the at the main users face level. With a cabinet like the Robern Uplift that has no door swing, you are able to position the lights to wonderfully illuminate the user as only a fine make-up mirror typically would be able to do. – Donald Miller, Branch Manager, Ferguson –

Q. What are your picks for stone in the bathroom?
A. ECO Quartz from Cosentino is becoming one of my favorites. The use of recycle quartz and the colors available are amazing. The new sinks made out of Quartz are just fantastic. If you want the classic then Callacatta ORO marble from Italy. Beautiful white marble with gold/brown veins. Used by the high end designers, only for great taste without a budget.

Q) There are so many faucet fixture options…how do you choose?
A) Often a consumer will pick out faucetry last, finding something simply that “fits” the holes in the sink. I encourage customers to pick the faucet in conjunction with the vanity, or vessel and use it as an integral part of the design phase. A faucet can make a statement in a room and should never be an afterthought. There are so many styles available that every customer should find something that suits them on any budget.
Q) What current trend will stand the test of time?
There are several trends in the market today but one I see that will continue growing is the personal bathing experience. The bathroom is one of the last sanctuaries in our busy lives and more and more customers want a soothing spa experience in their own home, on their time. From simply adding one additional rain shower head to an existing shower or a full Vibroaccoustic (music) tub, there isn’t any dream that cannot be achieved.
