Staging your YARD to SELL
We’ve talked a lot lately about the importance of staging your interiors to help sell your home. But what about what potential buyers see before they even walk inside. Staging your outdoor areas is equally as important, so we went to the expert, Jason Jarvis of Terra Bella Landscape Development, who has worked on some of the most PREMIER landscapes in San Diego for his tips on STAGING YOUR YARD TO SELL YOUR HOME.
1 – SPRUCE UP YOUR DOOR. Deep clean/polish your front door and gates and invest in a new welcome mat.
2 – WHAT NUMBER IS THAT? Make sure that your address marker is visible and not overgrown with shrubs.
3 – COLOR. Refresh pottery with colorful succulents or flowers and add color to the edges of your planting beds.
4 – DECORATE. Add fresh, bright pillows and accents to your outdoor furniture.
5 – MULCH IT. Dress up your whole yard with fine brown shred mulch.
6 – TIGHTEN THINGS UP. Replace light bulbs that have gone out, sprinkler heads that are broken. Showing potential buyers that you have cared for the home inspires them to care about it too.
7—HIRE A PRO. If you have let the landscaping get away from you there is no shame in hiring a pro to get things ship shape again. Just like the cost of staging the interior of your home, the investment can result in a faster sale at a higher price.
