Wednesday, Sept 21, 2011 I had read a few things about this new Italian Farmhouse but still wasn’t totally prepared for what I found.
Last Sunday afternoon I took a trip north . As I’m driving through the hills and windy little roads of olde Del Mar I always get the feeling I have entered another world; a woodsy and serene place that feels so secluded and quiet yet I know I just got off the freeway a minute ago. The gorgeous blue Pacific Ocean backdrop gives me a reminder of where I am. It all always just surprises me in the best way.
What also surprises me are the homes here. I know they must be incredible being that this is some of the most prime coastal real estate anywhere but the hills and the trees keep each estate sheltered from passing eyes. So I jumped at the chance to check out an Open House for one of Rande Turner’s Del Mar Homes.
I had read a few things about this new Italian Farmhouse but still wasn’t totally prepared for what I found. What struck me the most, the level of detail and luxury done in such a pitch perfect manner as to never feel cold or ostentatious but utterly warm, welcoming and like home… a home transported in memory from the Italian countryside. I will direct you to some much better photos at the end but here are just a few of the many many details I was awed by.

Thank you to Rande Turner and Jenny Janzen from Willis Allen Real Estate for taking a minute to chat with me.
