Today’s post led me to some interesting factoids for the day. I was going to call these decorative iron beauties vent covers but the correct term I have just learned is register or grill (thank you google). A register will have a damper, which in my very technical lingo is the little thingy you move up and down to regulate the air flow. So these I believe are in fact grills. Whatever you call them I have to admit I never really thought about my plain old heater “registers” until I saw these at Architectural Salvage and thought what a difference replacing them would make.

Even the most functional element can add some beauty to your home and it could be a fun project to clean one of these up with a little elbow grease and paint.

Now if painting and elbow grease aren’t really your thing there are plenty of sparkling new registers and grills that are equally stunning.

You can find these at ClassicGrills.com or check them out in person at San Diego Hardware.
